Woman Struck and Killed by Hit & Run Driver, 3700 Block South Street, Lakewood #LASD @LKDLASD

VICTIM: Female, 67

SUSPECT VEHICLE: Black Nissan or Honda

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lakewood Station detectives are investigating the fatal hit and run traffic collision of a pedestrian. The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at approximately 9:56 PM, on the 3700 block of South Street in the city of Lakewood.

The 67 year-old female Hispanic victim was walking across South Street towards Lakewood Regional Hospital with her adult daughter when she was struck by the suspect's vehicle. The daughter was not injured. The vehicle fled westbound towards Downey Avenue and out of view.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a compact black Nissan or Honda. Most likely this vehicle has extensive front end damage.

The investigation is ongoing.
