The Whitmire police are advising residents of a recent increase in thefts from cars and home break ins. Neighbors should watch out for suspicious activity and lock their vehicles and also remove valuables from them. These are sneak thieves and are looking for any opportunity they can take advantage of. Make sure serial numbers of valuables are recorded. Notify law enforcement if you have any information about any of these crimes that have occurred in the last several weeks. Report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
