Troopers Investigate Single Vehicle Crash, Driver Seriously Injured
Warrick County – Early this morning at approximately 12:15, Indiana State Police and Warrick County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Folsomville Road north of Lovers Lane that seriously injured a 25-year-old Newburgh woman.
Preliminary investigation revealed Nicole Williams, 25, of Newburgh, was driving her 2004 Pontiac Grand Am at a high rate of speed southbound on Folsomville Road north of Lovers Lane. Williams drove left of center, overcorrected, drove off the roadway on the west side and collided into a tree. Williams was unconscious, but breathing when emergency crews arrived. After firefighters extricated Williams from her vehicle she was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville where she is currently being treated for serious injuries. According to Trooper Josh Greer, Williams was not wearing her seat belt and alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
