Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a personal injury crash on August 31st, 2014 at 3:17 pm on Union Road just south of Mason Street.

Khalil Brown,18 years old from Cassopolis, stopped at the stop sign at Mason and Union Road. He then proceeded west bound through the stop sign failing to see a motorcycle that was traveling south on Union Road and who had the right of way. The driver of the motor cycle was identified as Robert Brusdahl, 58 from Okeechobee, FL. Mr. Brushdahl was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Mr. Brusdahl was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident which remains under investigation.

Porter Fire and Ambulance and Edwardsburg Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
