Fall Festival Information and "A Matter of Balance Class"

It’s that time of year again, Frankfort’s Fall Festival is officially underway. The Frankfort Police Department would like to remind our residents of a few traffic changes for this weekend. Please be aware that White Street from Elwood to Nebraska will be closed from Saturday August 30th through Monday September 1st. There will be many additional downtown parking restrictions in place for this weekend as well. The parking restrictions will be clearly marked using white signs and will be enforced by the Frankfort Police Department. Lastly, on August 31st most of Nebraska street will be shut down for the fall fest parade. There will be restricted use of Nebraska Street from approximately 11:30am-4pm. We are looking forward to a safe and fun festival weekend. For further information or questions call us at (815)469-9435 or go to www.fallfestival.info/.

Do you have concerns about falling or know someone that does? The Frankfort Police Department is hosting “A Matter of Balance” class for older adults. The purpose of this class is to reduce falls and the fear of falling. Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 16th from 9am-11am. The class will be held at the Frankfort Police Department for 8 consecutive Tuesday mornings. This is a free course, but registration is required and space is limited. Please call Officer Bender at (815)469-9435 for more information or e-mail [email protected].
