Subjects Arrested for Poss. Cont. Subst., Poss. Hypodermic Syringe, & Under the Influence of Controlled Substance.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at approximately 11:50pm, a traffic stop was conducted in the 1400 block of Dairy Avenue for a mechanical violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Curtis Long from Alpaugh. Long was found to have two outstanding Fresno County Arrest Warrants. Long was detained on his warrants. The vehicle was also occupied by two female passengers identified as Glenda Gregory and Jana Mendivil. Both were from Alpaugh.

Corcoran Police Department K-9 Officer D. McAlister asked Long if there were any illegal items or drugs within his truck and was told no. Using his Narcotic Detection Canine Partner “Ollie”, Officer McAlister conducted an exterior search of the vehicle. Officer McAlister then used Ollie and conducted a search of the interior of the vehicle. Ollie alerted to a narcotic odor in both the center console of the vehicle and to a purse which was located in the vehicle.

Ollie was removed from the vehicle and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Located in the center console of the vehicle was approximately 4.7 grams of Methamphetamine. Located inside a purse belonging to Glenda Gregory was approximately 23 used hypodermic syringes.

All three subjects were transported to the Corcoran Police Department for further investigation. Each subject denied any knowledge of the Methamphetamine.

Glenda Gregory admitted to the ownership of the hypodermic syringes. All three subjects were found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Curtis Long was booked into the Kings County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance and under the influence of a controlled substance. Long was also booked on his Fresno County Warrants. He is currently being held on $31,000.00 bail.

Jana Mendivil was booked into the Kings County Jail for possession of a controlled substance and under the influence of a controlled substance. She is currently being held on $26,000.00 bail.

Glenda Gregory was booked into the Kings County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, under the influence of a controlled substance, prohibited person in possession of ammunition and possession of hypodermic needle. She is currently being held on $16,000.00 bail.
