Driver Arrested for DUI after Driving Left of Center on US 41
Vanderburgh – Last night at approximately 10:40, Trooper Brent Gramig was patrolling US 41 near I-64 when he stopped the driver of a 1997 Subaru for driving left of center. The driver was identified as James K, Taylor, 43, of Evansville. While talking to the driver, Gramig observed signs of impairment. Trooper Seth Rainey and his K-9 arrived to assist. While walking around the vehicle the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics on the driver’s side. A search of the vehicle discovered a vile of liquid THC in a compartment underneath the gear shift and a small baggie of meth. A field sobriety test indicated Taylor was impaired. Further investigation also revealed Taylor’s driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
