On Wednesday August 27, 2014 at approximately 6 p.m. a female shopper at the West County Shopping Center was approached from the rear by an unidentified male whom demanded her keys and her purse. It was assumed the male had a weapon of some type, however the victim was not able to witness one. The victim was momentarily distracted as she had just entered into her vehicle to leave. She was parked on the second level of the parking structure near the I270 Highway. It is assumed the male suspect saw this distraction and took full advantage of her not being fully aware of her surroundings. We are pleased to report that no one was harmed during this incident. Please pay close attention to your own surroundings in any public setting. Remember, if something looks out of place you should contact your local law enforcement office immediately.
