Indianapolis Troopers Honored at Awards Ceremony
Indianapolis, IN- Two Troopers from the Indianapolis District were honored Wednesday afternoon at an awards ceremony at the Indiana Government Center, downtown Indianapolis.
Trooper Matthew Beaver and Trooper Andrew Forgey were presented awards for their service to the State of Indiana.
Trooper Forgey was awarded as the 2013 Indianapolis District Trooper of the Year. The award was presented for achieving outstanding enforcement efforts in the areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigations, public information programs and community service; and for exemplifying the professionalism and integrity expected of an Indiana State Trooper.
The 2012 and 2013 Indianapolis District O.W.I. awards were presented to Trooper Beaver for his effort in removing impaired and intoxicated motorists from Indiana’s roadways. Trooper Beaver was recognized as the top trooper in 2012 with 102 O.W.I. arrests, and 61 impaired drivers in 2013.
The actions and dedication to duty of Trooper Forgey and Trooper Beaver are in keeping with the finest traditions of law enforcement and reflect great credit upon themselves and the Indiana State Police Department.
