Local Law Enforcement Raised $2163 to Benefit Special Olympics of Indiana

Vigo County—On Wednesday evening, August 27, from 4 to 10, Indiana State Police troopers from the Putnamville Post and deputies from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, participated in the “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics of Indiana. The event was held at the Texas Roadhouse in Terre Haute.

During the evening, Texas Roadhouse staff, Special Olympic athletes, and law enforcement partnered to create an atmosphere of charity and fun. Officers and athletes provided fundraiser information to patrons of the restaurant and those patrons returned their generosity in the form of $2,163 in “Tips” for Special Olympics of Indiana.

The Indiana State Police, Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, and Special Olympics of Indiana extend their gratitude to those who generously donated money and to the Texas Roadhouse of Terre Haute for partnering in this important project.

In April of this year, Texas Roadhouse and ISP hosted the same fundraiser for Special Olympics of Indiana and raised $2,746.

This week, Indiana State Police hosted the same event at five other state police districts around Indiana.

Law enforcement questions can be directed to ISP Sergeant Joe Watts.
