Three Evansville Troopers Recognized at Awards Ceremony

Yesterday afternoon, Indiana State Police held an awards and recognition ceremony in Indianapolis to honor members of the department from around the state for their dedication to service, bravery and devotion to the department and the citizens of Indiana.

2013 Trooper of the District Award

During the ceremony, Trooper John Davis was recognized as the 2013 Trooper of the District for Evansville. Trooper Davis led the Evansville District in traffic enforcement and arrested 30 impaired drivers while patrolling his afternoon shift in Pike County. Trooper Davis also investigated 32 criminal cases last year. The majority of his investigations led to arrests and successful prosecution. He also helped ensure students were safe by being present in all the area schools. “Trooper Davis has truly immersed himself in his community. He is the epitome of service and integrity we want to be associated with the Indiana State Police Department and he is very deserving of this award,” said Lieutenant Brian Bailey, Commander of the Evansville District. Davis is a six-year veteran and primarily patrols Pike County.

Life Awards

Trooper William Campbell received the Indiana State Police Life Award for his commitment to removing impaired drivers from Indiana roadways in 2013. Campbell led the Evansville District with 52 impaired driving arrests. Campbell is a two-year veteran and primarily patrols Knox County.

Trooper Korey Mauck also received the Indiana State Police Life Award for his commitment to removing impaired drivers from area roadways during 2012. He led the Evansville District with 67 impaired driving arrests. Mauck is a 6 ½ year veteran and primarily patrols Posey County.
