Advisory

From Long Beach Fire Dept: Efforts continue thru the night to protect the Peninsula from storm surge. #LBSurge

Resources from various departments throughout the City, volunteers, and residents have worked tirelessly on keeping our community safe and prepared for the storm surge.

Mayor Robert Garcia attended a briefing from the Long Beach Fire Department pertaining to the incident and thanked our Long Beach emergency volunteer workers.

Overnight, City crews will continue their coordinated, multi-department response to high water levels at the Peninsula by fortifying sand berms and closely monitoring the situation with additional staff and equipment. City crews have attached plywood to the boardwalk along the Peninsula to provide extra protection.
