Ongoing Investigation Leads to Multiple Felony Charges
New Castle – A Mt. Summit man was arrested today on a felony warrant as the result of a three month long investigation by the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad. The investigation began back on May 27th when Meth Suppression Troopers served a search warrant on a home at 203 W. Main in Mt. Summit as part of an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine.
As a result of evidence gathered during the search, and the ongoing investigation, an arrest warrant was issued. Bruce Shoaf, age 45, was arrested by Meth Suppression Troopers after members of the Henry County Drug Task Force saw Shoaf sitting in a parked vehicle in the 100 block of North 12th St. in New Castle, across the street from the Henry County Jail.
The arrest warrant charged Shoaf with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors and Possession of a Schedule II Substance, all three Class “D” Felonies. When arrested Shoaf was also found to be in possession of pills and marijuana, and has additional charges of One Count Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, a Level 6 Felony; Two Counts of Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, an “A” Misdemeanor and Possession of Marijuana, a Class “B” Misdemeanor.
The Pendleton Meth Suppression Squad was assisted in their investigation by the Henry County Drug Task Force and the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office.
