UPDATE: Witnesses requested in fatal Seaway Dr pedestrian crash; names released. 
On Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 01:07 a.m. emergency units responded to Seaway Drive at Norton Avenue in reference to a car / pedestrian crash.
Upon arrival officers learned that Albert WHITE III, a 57 year old man from Muskegon, was crossing Seaway Drive when he was struck by a minivan. Medical personnel transported him to Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus, but he did not survive the injuries sustained.
The minivan, driven by Charles Benjamin FLES, Jr., a 63 year old man from Muskegon, was westbound on Seaway Drive. He reported having a “green light” at Norton Avenue. While approaching the intersection, he observed the pedestrian crossing Seaway Drive and attempted to stop, but was unable to do so.
