Arcadia Officers arrest man for burglary of a local restaurant.

On August 18, 2014 at about 12:06 AM, officers from the Arcadia Police Department responded to the Coco's Restaurant located at 1150 W. Colorado Blvd. regarding an audible burglary alarm.  As officers began checking the location they discovered that a glass panel of a door had been smashed.

The officers set up a perimeter around the building and entered to see if anyone was inside.  During the interior check the officers heard a grinding sound coming from an office.  The officers announced their presence and requested anyone inside to step out.  A male subject emerged and was detained without incident. No other subjects were located inside.

The officers found an electric grinding tool on the floor next to a safe.  Officers  also observed damage to the safe.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the subject detained had shattered the door, entered the location, and was attempting to cut open the safe.  The subject was arrested for commercial burglary.

The suspect was identified as David Aaron Jund, 53 years old, from Parker, Arizona.  Jund has a significant arrest record and is currently on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) Probation.

The officers quick response, thorough investigation, and arrest is just another example of the great work being done by Arcadia PD Officers every day.
