(Noble County, IN)-Two people were injured earlier this evening as a result of a two vehicle crash on State Road 3 at State Road 8, north of Avilla.
According to Trooper James Bailey, at approximately 5:50 p.m. a 2004 Dodge passenger car driven by 40 year old Sarah E. Marker of rural Albion was traveling eastbound on State Road 8. Marker allegedly disregarded the red light at the intersection of State Road 3, and drove into the path of a southbound 1990 Honda passenger car driven by 34 year old Kerry Lee Nelson, Jr. of Fort Wayne.
Nelson's vehicle struck Marker's in the front, left tire area and as a result of the crash, both drivers, who were seat belted had complaints of pain to their chests. Nelson also complained of neck pain and was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Marker was transported to Parkview Noble in Kendallville and was also cited for disregarding an automatic signal.
Bailey was assisted at the scene by the Avilla Fire Department and Noble County EMS.
