Pendleton Post Troopers Partner with Special Olympics and Richmond’s Texas Roadhouse

Last night from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Troopers from the Pendleton Post, along with staff from the Richmond Texas Roadhouse, helped collect tips from Texas Roadhouse customers with all donations going directly to help over 11,000 athletes with the Special Olympics of Indiana. The Superintendent of the State Police, Doug Carter, said, “The Indiana State Police, and law enforcement in general, have a bond with Special Olympics and are pleased to be part of the tip-a-cop fundraising event.” This year continues to build the strong law enforcement Tip-A-Cop tradition benefitting Special Olympics Indiana.

As an LETR signature fundraising event, Tip-A-Cop invites Hoosier residents to attend one of the selected Texas Roadhouse locations, without the need of a promotional flyer, and chose from the full menu. Customers were encouraged to donate gratuities in envelopes marked for the Special Olympics, leaving them with troopers at the door as they left the restaurant. Each customer that made a donation received a complimentary appetizer for free from the Richmond Texas Roadhouse.

Each donation made helps to raise funds and awareness for adults and children with intellectual disabilities. Throughout its history, the Tip-A-Cop fundraising event, with various restaurant partners, has generated over$2.5 million for Special Olympics. Last night Richmond Patrons donated $665.00 for the Indiana Special Olympics.
