Store Clerk Arrested for Criminal Sexual Contact

ACCUSED: Malkiat Mahal age 68, Wanamassa NJ
NARRATIVE:
On 8/26/14 at approximately 2:23 am, Officer Gregory Martone responded to a call of a woman who was reporting that she was inappropriately touched by an employee in the 7-11 Store on Sunset Avenue in the Wanamassa section of the Township.
An investigation revealed that the victim was shopping in the store and was followed out to her car by the store clerk. The clerk, identified as Malkiat Mahal, approached the victim and began hugging and kissing her. The victim resisted his advances fled the area in her car and called the police.
Mr. Mahal was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Contact. Bail was set by Municipal Court Judge Timothy McGoughran at $1000.00 with a ten percent option. The accused was released on bail and will appear at a future court hearing.
