Fontana Deputies Are Searching For a Suspect Who Caused the Lock Down Of Schools Following a Pursuit.

DATE/TIME: 08-25-2014

INCIDENT: CVC 10851 / Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

LOCATION: 9200 block of Papaya, in the county area of Fontana

SUSPECT(S): Unknown Hispanic Male Mid 20's

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: Deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station received a Lo-Jack notificaton in the area of Cherry and Merrill . The vehicle was located in the area of Live Oak and Granada and was occupied by an unidentified Hispanic male in his mid 20’s. The vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed, attempting to evade deputies. The vehicle was followed to the 9200 block of Papaya Place in the county area of Fontana.

The suspect pulled the vehicle onto the front yard of a residence, near Live Oak Elementary School; fleeing on foot, in an unknown direction. Deputies contacted the schools in the area regarding the incident, and asked for the schools to be secured. Fontana School Police locked the schools down and aided in the search for the outstanding suspect. No suspect was located and the schools resumed normal activities. Deputies released the vehicle to the registered owner at the scene.
