One Injured in Single Vehicle Accident

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr is reporting that on 8/26/2014 at approximately 6:11 A.M., his Office responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of M-60 and Daily Rd in Jefferson Township.

58-year-old Cassopolis resident John Bright was traveling southbound on M-60 on his way to work. Bright said that an oncoming vehicle came into his lane, forcing him to take evasive action. Bright’s vehicle exited the roadway and overturned. Life Care Medics responded to the scene and transported Bright to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital for evaluation of his injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor in this accident and Bright is believed to have been wearing his seatbelt. This incident remains under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office received assistance at the scene from the Cassopolis Fire Department.
