On August 22, 2014 at approximately 8:57 p.m., Officers were dispatched to Memorial Hospital Los Banos after the victim of a stabbing arrived at the emergency room for treatment.
The victim told police he was assaulted after leaving a barber shop in the 800 block of 2nd Street. A second victim arrived at the Police Department claiming to have been stabbed leaving the same barbershop. Both victims suffered injuries consistent with being cut by a razor blade.
The second victim positively identified the suspect as 26-year-old Richard Ramirez of Los Banos.
On August 23, 2014 at approximately 3:39 p.m., Officer Acosta located Richard Ramirez walking in the 700 block of Pacheco Boulevard after the Department received an anonymous tip. Ramirez was arrested and found to be in possession of the weapon believed to be used in the attacks.

The attack appears to be unprovoked and the motive is was not immediately clear.
Ramirez was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail Facility for the charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Ramirez remains in custody at the John Latorraca Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000.00.
