Media Advisory IMPD detectives arrest suspect in connection with molestation at St. Vincent facility
INDIANAPOLIS – On August 22, 2014, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to St. Vincent Emergency Department (ED) to investigate a report of alleged molestation of a 4-year-old victim. The victim’s parents upon learning of the allegations notified authorities and transported the child to the ED. Investigators quickly arrived on scene and began identifying person’s of interest. IMPD child abuse detectives indentified a person of interest and detained him for questioning. Mr. Ali Al-Awadi is employed at a day –care facility on the grounds of St. Vincent and identified as the suspect.
Yesterday, Ali Al-Awadi was arrested and charged with child molestation and transported to the APC without incident. The investigation is on-going but detectives believe this incident is isolated to this suspect. The Marion County Prosecutors Office (MCPO) will review charging information and release the PC next week.
