Pedestrian critically injured after being stuck by vehicle, Driver flees

On 08/23/14, at approximately 1:56 AM, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic accident involving a pedestrian on H Street (600 Block). Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult male had been struck by a single vehicle traveling westbound on H Street. The vehicle fled the scene after striking the pedestrian.

The victim was transported to UCSD to be treated for his injuries. The victim is in critical condition and expected to survive.

There were no witnesses to the collision. The vehicle involved should have a broken windshield and frontal body damage. There are no other details on the type or make of the vehicle.

The Chula Vista Police Traffic Division will be conducting the investigation.
