Police Investigate Shooting

On August 22, 2014 at approximately 5:23 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of N. Santa Rita Street for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
A second victim, 29, turned up at Memorial Hospital - Los Banos, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The 18-year-old victim was flown by helicopter to a Modesto area hospital where he is undergoing surgery.
The suspects were spotted by Officer Mane Leao as they fled the area immediately following the shooting. Officers initiated a “high risk stop” and the suspects were taken into custody without incident.
“Our detectives are working hard to piece together the details of this shooting. We’re confident we have all of those involved in custody and we do not believe there is any continued danger to the public.”

Charges are pending; this investigation is still very active and we will follow up with a press release as new information become available.
