Miramar FD's L. Keith Tomey III officially named new Fire-Rescue Chief

It is with great pleasure that we announce that during last night’s commission meeting, interim Fire-Rescue Chief L. Keith Tomey III was recognized as the city’s new Chief of Fire-Rescue. Chief L. Keith Tomey III has dedicated 30 years to the fire service – 27 of them with Miramar. He has a Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Barry University and an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Broward College.

Chief Tomey earned his Executive Fire Officer from the National Fire Academy in 2005, and in 2011, the Center of Public Safety Excellence designated Chief Tomey as a Chief Fire Officer. These honors demonstrate a high level of competence, professionalism, community service achievement, and a high level of standards, ethics and conduct. Chief Tomey has extensive certifications in emergency management through the US Fire Administration and advanced incident command certifications from FEMA.
