8/16/14 press release: Suspicious Event UPDATE

NARRATIVE:

On August 16, 2014 at 2:56 am., the Burlington Police Department and Burlington Fire Department received a report of an unresponsive, Caucasian, male who had struck his head on the ground outside of Nectars Bar on Main Street in the City of Burlington.

The male was subsequently transported to the Fletcher Allen Hospital for an injury to his head. The male is currently recovering at the Fletcher Allen Hospital.

This incident is currently under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact Detective Nguyen with information.

8/17/2014 UPDATE:

On August 16TH, 2014, at approximately 2:56 AM, the Burlington Police Department responded to the area outside of Nectars Bar and Esox Bar on Main Street, Burlington VT for a report of an unresponsive male.

The male was subsequently transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care for an injury to the head. The male is currently being treated and recovering at the Fletcher Allen Hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are suspicious and the incident is currently under investigation.

Police is asking for public help in identifying two subjects seen in surveillance photos. The two subjects were seen with the victim moments prior to the incident and left shortly after the incident. Police believe that the two subjects may have witnessed the incident and would have information to assist with the investigation.

Anyone that witnesses the incident or knows the identity of the two subjects is asked to contact Detective Nguyen at 802-540-2267.

8/21/2014 UPDATE:

After a thorough investigation it has been determined that the circumstances described in the attached press release was in fact an assault. The suspect has been identified as McKeever Barrow, a 21 year old South Carolina resident. Barrow has been cited to appear in court for arraignment on Tuesday August 26.

The victim sustained head injuries and was transported to Fletcher Allen Hospital the morning of the assault. The victim is currently still in the hospital in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
