Ripon Collision Under Investigation
Ripon, CA – On 08-20-14, at approximately 1155 hours, the Ripon Police Department received reports of a tractor trailer collision on the Jack Tone Road over cross, involving an overturned trailer.
Upon arrival, officers saw one lane of the over cross was blocked by an overturned trailer that spilled a large load of wine grapes, with an estimated processed value of over $20,000 onto the roadway. Officers quickly determined the driver in this solo vehicle accident was not injured. The collision, and subsequent clean up affected traffic on Hwy 99, as well as on the Jack Tone Road over cross for approximately 3 hours.
The Ripon Consolidated Fire Department, City of Ripon Public Works Crews and CALTRANS, assisted the Ripon Police Department with this incident.
The cause of this solo vehicle collision is still under investigation.
