A vehicle burglary occurred near the 24600 of Town Center Drive. An unknown male Hispanic adult was arrested after breaking into three vehicles at the location. The suspect was spotted by our patrol deputies and was quickly detained, and was ultimately arrested for the vehicle burglaries. I would like to say, great job to our patrol deputies for acting fast and being active in your area.
A commercial burglary occurred near the 26400 of Bouquet Canyon Road. Five male black adults walked into the location and stole numerous electronics devices off the display. Two of the five males held open the doors to the store, as the other three males cut off phones, iPad’s and tablets. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a white Dodge charger.
This week we had three shoplifting incidents occur at a few of our local stores. In each case the suspects made off with a few items from inside the locations. Everyone one of these cases is currently under active investigation by our local Detective Bureau.
We had two shoplifting suspects arrested during this past week from local businesses. Nothing significant came from these incidents.
As summer draws to a close, back-to-school season is in full effect. Safety should be a priority for every family as children return to classrooms this fall. It is important for parents to stay up-to-date on the proper safety precautions and share this information with their children to keep them safe throughout the school year.
Whether children walk, ride their bicycle or take the bus to school, it is extremely important that they take proper safety precautions. Here are some tips to share with your children to ensure their safety when traveling to school.
• Walk to school with a group of kids and always have a responsible adult with you.
• Always walk on the sidewalk if one is available.
• If no sidewalk is available, walk facing the traffic.
• The safest place to cross is at a street corner or intersection.
• If you are 10-years-old or younger, you need to cross the street with an adult. You should not cross by yourself.
• Before you step off the curb to cross the street, stop and look all ways to see if cars are coming.
• When no cars are coming, it is safe for you and an adult to cross. But look left-right-left as you do it, and hold the adult’s hand.
• Walk, don’t run. This gives time for drivers to see you before you enter the roadway. Running also makes you more likely to fall in the street.
• Don’t dart out in front of a parked car. The driver of the car coming down the street will not be able to see you.
Always look left-right-left before crossing the street and never run or dart out in front of a parked car. The driver will not be able to see you.
Have a great week and thanks for keeping our Zone safe.
Deputy, Brian Heischuber
