Indiana State Police Asking for Public’s Help in Locating a Walk Away Female from the Indiana School for the Blind
Indianapolis, IN- The Indiana State Police have located the walk away female from the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired located at 7725 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis.
School officials contacted the State Police at 4:10 p.m. and reported that Kaylia Ferguson, 17, had left the facility at approximately 3:00 p.m. Kaylia is a white female, 5 foot 3, 200 pounds, last seen wearing a teal blouse and blue jeans. She also uses a white cane for mobility.
Indiana State Police Troopers, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers, Indianapolis Fire Department and Pike Township Fire assisted school officials with a search of the campus.
Ferguson was located safe just before 10:00 p.m. at a residence in Shelbyville, Indiana.
“We are relieved that Kaylia was located safe and sound and we would like to thank the public, law enforcement and emergency services for their help,” stated Jim Durst, Superintendent, Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired
