On 8-17-14, at about 7:50 PM, an officer saw a black Ford Crown Victoria that was northbound on Georgia. The officer recognized it as matching the description of vehicle that had evaded at least one previous attempt to stop it. The officer turned to follow the vehicle, and it made several turns in an apparent attempt to avoid the officer. When the officer tried to stop the car, the driver drove down an alley near the 3000 block of Britain. The officers found the vehicle a few moments later in the front yard of 3012 Westhaven Drive. The driver, who was followed by a female and two small children that had been in the car, refused orders to stop, ran inside the residence, and locked the door. This was not the suspect's home, but it appears that the resident knew the suspect. The officers pursing the driver kicked open the door to continue their effort to arrest him. The suspect continued to ignore the officers’ orders to stop and was attempting to get to the back door of the home when one officer used a Taser to take him into custody. He was not injured. The driver was Taylor Jajuan Meander BM 23. He was wanted on eight traffic warrants. Meander was also arrested for endangering the small children ages 4 and 5 that were in the vehicle with him and evading arrest/detention. The woman that had been in the car initially provided a false name to officers. She was correctly identified as Estlyn Shakil Reed BF age 21. She was wanted on Potter County warrants for criminal mischief and for probation violation on the original charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Both were booked into the Randall County Jail.
