Speeding Driver Found in Possession of Stolen Equipment

Vigo County—This morning at 7:50, Indiana State Police Trooper Ted Robertson stopped a black, 2004 Chevrolet Suburban on Interstate 70 westbound near the 3 mile marker, for traveling 81 miles-per-hour in a 65 mph zone.

During conversation with the driver and passenger, Trooper Robertson noticed indicators of possible criminal activity. During a search of the vehicle, several electric construction type hand tools, rolls of electrical wire, and various other construction and domestic related equipment were found inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the items were reportedly taken from an overnight burglary of Ewing Electric Company in Charlotte, Michigan. The driver and passenger were taken into custody and transported to the Vigo County Jail for felony possession of stolen property. The investigation is continuing in Michigan and additional charges are expected from the State of Michigan.

Arrested Driver: Donald King, age 39, of Centralia, Illinois
Charge: Possession of Stolen Property, felony

Arrested Passenger: Roger C. Graham, age 36, Centralia, Illinois
Charge: Possession of Stolen Property, felony

Assisting were ISP Troopers Todd Miles, Jason Schoffstall, and Hans Nowak, along with Vigo County Deputy Larry Hopper and K-9 “Gnash”.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
