New Troopers Begin Solo Patrol Responsibilities
Yesterday 46 new troopers who graduated from the 73rd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in May finally completed their field training and received their own commissions and begin solo patrol responsibilities. The 73rd ISP Recruit Academy graduated on May 14, 2014 after completing approximately 917 hours of structured training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana. After completion of Recruit School, the Probationary Troopers worked and were evaluated for three months by field training officers in the districts they were assigned. This period enhanced their knowledge learned in the academy and allowed them to apply the understanding to real life situations.
