Advisory

Arrest in east side shooting and robbery attempt. See website for more information.

On Sunday, August 17th, at around 1:24 a.m., we responded to a report of a possible shooting in the area of North Webster Avenue and Cherry Street. A citizen reported seeing a male get shot while he was standing in the street and several people running from the area. We responded and could not locate any victims or witnesses. Around 2:12 a.m. a 23 year old Green Bay resident arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound in the middle of his back. The gun used was a small caliber handgun and the victim has been released from the hospital.

The victim said he was walking in the 100 block of N. VanBuren Street when he was confronted by a group of males who asked him for change for a $20.00 bill. The victim said one of the males displayed a handgun and as he ran away from them he was shot in the back.

We have identified several of the individuals involved in this incident and have recovered the gun that we believe was used. We have arrested a 17 year old Green Bay resident for the shooting and are requesting charges of Attempted First Degree Homicide and Armed Robbery. We are not releasing his name or picture at this time so as to not compromise the integrity of the investigation. This appears to be a robbery attempt at this time but we continue to investigate.
