One arrested after robbery of restaurant on Ross Street on Sunday.
On 8-17-2014, at 5:06 PM, officers were sent to the Taco Bell at 2010 S. Ross on a report that a man inside the restaurant was threatening people with a gun. He was reportedly wearing a red long sleeved shirt. Responding officers saw a man matching the description running west from the call address. Officers began searching the alley near 25th and S. Ross, and saw a man stand up and look out of a dumpster in the alley. The man had removed the red shirt and was holding it in his hand. The man refused to step out of the dumpster, so officers took him out of the dumpster and took him into custody. Officers searched the man and found he was carrying a .45 caliber handgun and a fixed blade type knife. Officers found a quantity of cash in his sock. The officers took the man back to the store. They learned that the man had actually robbed the store. The suspect had entered the store, threatened employees behind the counter with the gun, and took the money from the register. The suspect Mario Felix Mencias (corrected from earlier incorrect spelling-Mecias) HM 29 was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for aggravated robbery.
