During the months of August and September, the Burlington Police Department will be participating in the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, known as the “Labor Day DUI Campaign.” The traffic enforcement will take place in the City of Burlington, covering all hours. In particular, Labor Day is a busy time for traffic on our highways-so much of our efforts will be focused around this holiday.
The strategy behind this enhanced enforcement is to remain highly visible to the motoring public reminding them of the importance of following the laws to ensure their motoring safety. The reduction of vehicle crashes is one of the primary goals.
The concentrated enforcement will cover:
• Speed and Equipment Violations
• Impaired/Intoxicated Driving
• Driver/Occupant Seatbelt Laws
