Recent Fogging for Mosquitoes Carrying West Nile Virus Deemed Successful
The San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District (SMCMVCD) fogging operations the night of August 11th successfully reduced mosquito populations in the 1300 acre treatment area in Menlo Park. Post-fogging mosquito samples tested negative and no future fogging is planned at this time. The fogging was completed at approximately 2:30 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, and mosquito traps set before and after treatment showed an 86% reduction in the adult mosquito population after Monday night.
