Head-On Crash Kills Texas Man
Posey County – This afternoon at approximately 3:15, Indiana State Police and Posey County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on William Keck Bypass approximately ½ mile north of SR 62 that killed a Texas man.
Preliminary investigation revealed William Walker, 57, of Houston, TX, was driving his 2015 Nissan Versa southbound on William Keck Bypass before colliding head-on with a vehicle traveling northbound. Information gathered at the scene indicated that Walker was driving erratically from lane to lane before colliding head-on with a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, driven by James Rice, 53, of Mt. Vernon. Walker was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Posey County Coroner. Rice was wearing a seat belt and was taken to Deaconess Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were totaled.
