Target Game Console Thief Arrested

On Monday, July 21, 2014, the Torrance Police Department put out information on Nixle and our other social media sites regarding a suspect that had stolen game consoles from Target on two separate occasions.  Torrance detectives received several tips from community members who saw the Bulletin.  Detectives were able to identify a suspect based on the tips from the public.  On August 8, 2014, a suspect was arrested for these crimes.

On Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:12 A.M., the suspect entered the TARGET at 3433 Sepulveda, took two NINTENDO 3DS XL systems from the display, put the items in a shopping cart and exited the store. Reported to TPD at the same time was a prior theft of a SONY Playstation4 taken on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 11:12 A.M., after the suspect placed the item in a shopping cart and exited the store, setting off the exit alarms.

On Monday, June 16, 2014 at 4:22 P.M., the suspect again entered TARGET, walked directly to the electronic gaming systems display, quickly selected two electronic gaming systems and quickly walked out of the store through the entry / exit doors, fleeing on his motorcycle through the store's parking lot, then south on Madrona Ave.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Hispanic male adult, 18-24 years old, 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, thin build, tanned skin, brown eyes, curly brown hair, beard, wearing a black baseball cap with a red bill backward, gray hoodie, gray t-shirt, gray pants.

SUSPECT VEHICLE: Motorcycle similar to HARLEY-DAVIDSON Sportster (smaller than a cruiser-style HD or HONDA Goldwing), red gas tank and red front and rear tire fenders, likely has scrapes along the right side from when it fell on its side as suspect fled - suspect was wearing a black full face helmet as he rode.
