Overnight Crash Claims One Life
Indianapolis, IN- An overnight crash on I-65 SB near the 105.9 mm in the construction zone has claimed the life of an Indianapolis woman.
At approximately 11:32 p.m. last evening Indiana State Police troopers responded to a personal injury crash involving a semi tractor trailer and passenger car.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Luna Miranda Israel, 34, of Hanover Park IL., was sitting stationary in the construction zone in a semi-tractor and box trailer. Suzanne Stocky, 37, of Indianapolis was operating a 2002 Oldsmobile SB on I-65, failed to negotiate the stopped traffic and drove into the rear of the box trailer. Stocky was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marion County Coroner’s Office. Israel was not injured. Investigators have not determined why Stocky failed to negotiate the stopped traffic. The investigation is continuing.
Lanes were restricted in the crash scene area for approximately three hours while the investigation was conducted and the wreckage cleared.
