APD officers arrest Amarillo man after late night vandalsim spree.

On Tuesday August 12 at 9:38pm, officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of W. 6th in reference to vandalism. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a victim who stated that a W/M wearing a red t-shirt and carrying a backpack had just slashed several tires on different vehicles and was last seen walking east bound from this location. As officers began looking for the suspect they were flagged down by additional victim’s regarding more slashed tires and in one case two broken windows to a business. Officers continued searching for the suspect and observed a W/M matching the description at 6th and Monroe. The male was in possession of a pocket knife handle but the blade was now missing. It is believed the knife was broken during one of the vandalism. The male subject was taken into custody while additional officers continued their investigation. Officers located several victims who were reporting damage to their cars and one business that had two different windows broken out. One vehicle had 3 tires slashed on it, one vehicle had 2 tires slashed, and 3 different vehicles each had one tire slashed on them. The suspect is identified as Kelly Lee Lamberson W/M 38 of Amarillo. Lamberson was arrested and booked into Potter County Correction Center on charges with Criminal Mischief over $1500 less than $20,000 and for Public Intoxication.
