UPDATE; Amarillo man arrested in yesterday afternoon stabbing.

UPDATE 8-12-14 3:00pm; APD Detectives were tracking down leads to the identity of the suspect in this stabbing. The suspect was located on a traffic stop at 45th and Cornell. The suspect was brought to the PD for questioning and to recover physical evidence from him. He is identified as Richard Earl Ewing B/M 35. A warrant was issued for Ewing by the 47th District Attorneys Office charging him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Ewing was later transported and booked into the Potter County Correction Center.

On Tuesday August 11th at 3:00pm, APD officers were sent to the 200 block of S Tennessee on a stabbing that just occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke with 2 females who advised that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital by private conveyance. In talking with one of the females she advised that her ex-boyfriend an H/M 24 was at her residence and were in the house talking when a B/M acquaintance of theirs came banging on the door. She identified the B/M by a nickname and stated that he told her he was there to talk about his brother getting stabbed. Apparently this B/M believed that the ex-boyfriend of hers had stabbed his brother and he was there to find out what happened. All three subjects were in the house arguing over a supposed stabbing. According to the female she talked with the suspect’s brother earlier in the day and he had not been stabbed. As the two males argued about the supposed stabbing, they eventually went outside and a physical fight ensued.  As the two were fighting the B/M pulled out a small knife and began stabbing the victim. The suspect then returned to his vehicle and quickly left the scene. The victim did suffer multiple stab wounds and was transported to the hospital by a neighbor. He is still being treated for his injuries but is expected to make a full recovery. APD Detectives are trying to track down the suspect but no arrests have been made at this time.
