Afternoon Crash Sends One to Hospital

Henry County – Yesterday afternoon around 4 p.m. a crash involving three vehicles on Wilbur Wright Rd. at I-70 here in Henry County sent one driver to the Henry County Hospital in New Castle. A 2014 Chevrolet truck that had exited I-70 east failed to stop at the top of the ramp and ran into a passing box truck that was south bound on Wilbur Wright Rd.

The collision caused the south bound box truck to spin around into the north bound lane where it hit a 2013 Chevrolet car. The driver of the pickup, Kiwao Hayasaka, age 63, of Dublin Ohio, was transported to Henry County Hospital with complaints of pain. The driver of the box truck, Teresa Foy, age 38 of Muncie, was not injured.

The driver of the north bound Chevrolet car, Michelle Dugger, age 30 of Bartlett, Illinois, was not injured. The Chevrolet truck that Hayasaka was driving was a total loss. Hayasaka was cited for disregarding a stop sign. The crash was investigated by Trooper Kris Martin, with assistance from ISP Sergeant Todd Wallace, Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies,and the Dudley Township Fire Department.
