Woman’s car shot at in one of two reported shootings in Larson area last night.

MOSES LAKE Wash. (08AUG2014) – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community to help identify and locate suspects involved in two reported shootings last night, one involving a woman driving through the Larson area. She was not injured.

The first report was for shots fired about 9:30 pm last night, August 7th. The caller reported hearing 4-6 shots fired in the area of Lowry and Falcon Street. Law enforcement officers responded and searched the area. No injuries were reported, and no damage or evidence was located.

The second report for shots fired occurred at approximately 2:40am Friday morning. The first caller reported 5-6 shots, the second caller reported that her car had been shot at the intersection of Doolittle and Canon Lane. She said she was driving through the area when she encountered two male subjects wearing dark hoodies and blue jeans. At the intersection, one of the subjects began firing at her car. The woman was able to escape without injury. Her vehicle sustained a bullet hole to the trunk area and her two front side windows were shot out.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Moses Lake Police Department responded to the area. They were unable to identify or locate suspects but did find two shell casings on the north side of Doolittle Street, just west of Falcon Street. The neighborhood was further canvassed and no other victims were located.

Both shootings were believed to be gang related.

Sheriff Tom Jones said, “We are very thankful that this woman was not injured during this terrifying encounter, and I’m very grateful for the joint response with Moses Lake Police Department. However, we don’t have enough information to work with yet. We really need the community’s help with information that leads us to the suspects before they hurt someone or worse. If you know anything about these shootings, please call us. Meanwhile, I urge our community residents to be alert and report suspicious activity in their neighborhood. Let’s work together to get these suspects off our streets.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 509-762-1160, or send information to [email protected]. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
