What is C.E.R.T.?
Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) is a national program designed to teach residents, businesses and community organizations the necessary skills to prepare for disasters and take steps to aid themselves and others after an incident strikes.
What’s involved in the training?
Certified C.E.R.T. trainers along with firefighters and police officers will teach this 20 hour course covering:
• Disaster Response Preparedness
• Fire Suppression Techniques
• Disaster Simulation Drill
• Disaster Medical Operations
• Light Search and Rescue
Who is this for?
Community Emergency Response Team is open to anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency or disaster in your home, business, church or school.
When and where are the classes?
The classes will be held either at the Huntley Police Department or the Huntley Fire Department Annex. Fire suppression will be taught at the Huntley Fire Department Smoke Tower. Classes will be held on consecutive Wednesdays from September 10 through October 15, scheduled for 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The final exercise will be held at the Huntley Public Works Building on October 18 from 8 AM through Noon.
