UPDATE: Threat has been cleared near 7th and Center. Normal traffic and access now underway 
No threat to public safety exists. 7th Street will remain closed until police are able to remove equipment and vehicles. All traffic will resume as soon as possible.
Background:The Oakland Police Department was involved in police activity near and within the 700 block of Center investigating a report of a bomb threat.
Traffic in the area was blocked or rerouted. Officers on-scene contacted affected homes, businesses, occupants and structures door-to-door.
Officers were encouraging evacuations for residents and businesses within the potentially affected area.
Instructions:
