Advisory

Join us & the rest of your community tonight, for a neighborhood celebration of National Night Out. Free food & entertainment.

National Night Out is a celebration of community with a focus on crime prevention. The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, in 1984 began as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. National Night Out began from the traditional “lights on” campaign and symbolic front porch vigils that turned into a celebration across America with various events and activities including, but not limited to, block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from emergency personnel, rallies and marches, exhibits, youth events, safety demonstrations and seminars, in effort to heighten awareness and enhance community relations. National Night Out now involves over 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

Join LAPD Pacific Division and your fellow neighbors on August 5th, at the Mar Vista Recreation Center, located at 11430 Woodbine St, in Los Angeles to celebrate National Night Out. We will be there from 6pm-9pm along with many other guests to have fun and share crime prevention information with our community. Free food, entertainment, and a movie for everyone, bring the whole family!
