Acting on information obtained from an investigation, Burlington Police and Winooski Police responded to a residence within the city of Winooski this morning. Once police arrived they located and arrested Maurice Williams age 16 of Brooklyn New York. Williams was charged with trafficking heroin and at the time of his arrest was in possession of approximately 7 grams of heroin and over $2,600.00 in cash.
Williams is being charged as an adult and will be arraigned later today. Trafficking heroin is a felony and is punishable by up to 30 years in prison or a fine of not more than $1,000,000,00, or both.
