Several Crimes Committed in Isla Vista on Saturday

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies are attempting to locate several suspects wanted for committing crimes in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 2, 2014.   In each of the incidents, the suspect fled before law enforcement arrived.  The Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance to help locate the suspects.  It’s unclear at this point if the crimes are related.

The first crime was reported at approximately 3:20 a.m. in the 6600 block of Sueno Rd. The victim was walking home when he was approached by a college-aged Hispanic male associated with a dark colored Infiniti. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim. When the victim was unable to provide the suspect with money or belongings, he fled the area. The victim further described the suspect as having a dark complexion, black hair and wearing a dark colored zip-up sweatshirt.

The second robbery occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde Rd.  The victim reported being approached by a Hispanic college-aged male who was walking from the El Embarcadero area.  The suspect approached the victim and asked if he had change for a $20.  When the victim opened his wallet and showed him the change, the suspect removed a handgun from his back pants pocket, pointed it at the victim and demanded the money. The suspect took the cash and fled the area.  The victim further described the suspect as approximately 5' 9" tall, 140 pounds with medium length curly, dark hair and dark skin.  The suspect was wearing jeans and a dark sweater.

Also at approximately 3:30 a.m., a resident inside her apartment in the 6600 block of Abrego Rd. observed a Hispanic male in his late thirties standing on her patio looking at her.  When the suspect saw her, he fled the area. The resident left the apartment and when she returned thirty minutes later her roommate reported waking up and finding a Hispanic male standing over her and masturbating.  She screamed and the suspect kissed her on the face and fled out the back door.  The roommate described the male as dark skinned with a shaved head, about 5’6” tall and 220 pounds.  He was wearing a baggy white t-shirt and baggy blue plaid shorts.
