Six wanted felons arrested by Marshals Task Force in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. (04AUG2014) – Six wanted felons were arrested Aug. 1 in Grant County by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offenders Task Force.

Ten Task Force Officers representing the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Moses Lake Police Department, U.S. Marshal’s Spokane, Ephrata Police Department, Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, Pend Oreille County (Idaho) Sheriff’s Office and Kennewick Police Department teamed up in Grant County to locate and arrest violent offenders with outstanding felony warrants.

Arrested and lodged in the Grant County Jail:

• Jesus Ariza, 22, Warden – Three outstanding theft warrants and one for second degree burglary. Ariza was located in Warden and was caught after a short foot pursuit.

• Shawn Ray McLanahan, 44, Moses Lake – Outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance (other than marijuana). Also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

• Jessica Jayne Steele, 26, Moses Lake – Outstanding warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession with intent to manufacture/deliver methamphetamine. Search incident to arrest found Jessica in possession of methamphetamine.

• Karalyn Lyn Fithen, 30, Moses Lake – Outstanding warrant for escape community custody for second degree identity theft.

• Manuel Jose Oliva, 31, Moses Lake – Outstanding warrant – Dept. of Corrections detention order.

• Jordan Delbert Tebow, 31, Moses Lake – Outstanding warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine, and failure to return from jail furlough while serving a sentence for second-degree theft. Tebow was located at 4824 Stratford Road NE apt. 4 and would not come out. The team applied for and was granted a search warrant from Superior Court. The warrant was served on apts. 3 and 4, as Jordan’s father lived in apt. 3, and Jordan in apt. 4. Upon entering apt. 4, two small children were found hiding in a closet and told the officers, “Daddy’s under the floor.” Officers found a hole cut in the floor, and after an hour and sending two officers under the apartments, found and arrested Jordan without further incident.

“This was another great operation by the members of the Marshals Task Force,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “The arrest of Tebow shows that the task force will go to any length to bring wanted offenders into custody.”
