Greencastle Woman Arrested on Forgery Charges
Putnam County—On August 1, Indiana State Police Troopers Kyle Hall and Michael Organ were dispatched to a residence in Clinton (Vermillion County) for an investigation into possible check deception. After a four day investigation, the female suspect was arrested this afternoon at her Greencastle home on multiple felony charges.
Arrested: Kylie S. Lantzy, age 27, of Greencastle, IN.
Charges: (1) count Forgery; (1) count Identity Deception; (1) count Check Deception
Held: Putnam County Jail with no bond
During the investigation, troopers believe Lantzy had written a check from the victim’s bank account that was closed nearly three years ago. Lantzy is alleged to have written a check for $97.92 to purchase personal items at the Kroger store in Greencastle on July 26 of this year. Lantzy is believed to have obtained the check through a mutual acquaintance.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
